This page contains a list of legendary cycling climbs that I have selected from resources found primarily on the web, as well as from books and specialized publications.
The climbs, in particular, are:
- Climbs of Giro d’Italia
- Climbs of Tour de France
- Climbs of Vuelta de España
- Legendary climbs of Trentino, see https://www.visittrentino.info/it/guida/attivita-outdoor/salite-da-mito
- Climbs that are milestones of the Marco Pantani legend
- Other legendary cycling climbs, such as those found in the Cycling Monuments or other major races.
My goal is to tackle them all.
Initially, this list included only the climbs in Trentino. Later, I decided to broaden the scope of the project and include the others. I began riding them in 2023, at the age of 60. I do not know if I will manage to complete the project, but I intend to do my best.
Below, you find:
- A map showing the climbs. The green icons are the climbs done, the red ones the climbs still to be done. Click on the image to access the Google Earth map.
- A list of the climbs aggregated in groups. Click on the climb name to access the description of its characteristics and related historical notes. For each climb the column “Done on” shows if and when I already did the climb. The “Climbfinder points” column shows the difficulty points of the climb. Refer to this Climbfinder page for a detailed explanation. On each group the climbs are ordered by decreasing difficulty.
